Gold Cup: Panama's Jaime Penedo, Luis Tejada, Mexico coach Luis Herrera, and USMNT's Michael Bradley all disciplined by CONCACAF

CONCACAF announced Friday suspensions and fines stemming from Wednesday’s Gold Cup semifinal match between Panama and Mexico. US national team captain Michael Bradley was also fined for violating media regulations.

In a statement released following the “thorough review of the official match report and video footage” from Mexico’s controversial 2-1 victory over Panama in Atlanta, CONCACAF suspended Panama national team players Jaime Penedo and Luis Tejada for two games each, while fining the Panamanian Football Federation.

Mexico head coach Miguel Herrera and Bradley were fined an undisclosed amount for infractions of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015 Media Regulations for Participating Member Associations.

The two-game ban for LA Galaxy goalkeeper Penedo stemmed from pushing the assistant referee following the conclusion of the match. Tejada was sanctioned one game for his red card issued against Mexico and an additional match for failing to leave the field in a timely manner following the ejection.

They’ll serve the first game of the ban in Saturday’s third-place match against the USMNT and the second in Panama’s next official match.

The Panamanian national team was also fined an undisclosed amount.
