It’s been quite the summer for Alex Morgan.
The USWNT star helped the Americans to their third World Cup title earlier this month, then embarked on a whirlwind celebration tour, getting lauded by thousands in Los Angeles, parading down the Canyon of Heroes in New York City, making an onstage appearance at a Taylor Swift concert and winning the Best Team Award at last week’s ESPYs.
She picked up another honor on Monday, when news broke that she would join Lionel Messi on the cover of the US edition of FIFA 16. Morgan joins Canada striker Christine Sinclair, who will appear alongside Messi on the Canadian edition of the video game, as the first women to star on the cover of the hugely popular EA Sports property.
The Morgan and Messi edition of FIFA is scheduled to go on sale in a little over two months, with copies set to be available for purchase in the States beginning on September 22.
