Transfer Watch: Orlando City SC linked to Kaká's former teammate Paulo Henrique Ganso

Could Orlando City SC's Brazilian connection help them land one of the most enigmatic talents of the past decade?

Brazilian media outlet Globo reported on Thursday that midfielder Paulo Henrique Ganso was a target of the expansion MLS side, who of course have a Brazilian co-owner, Flavio Augusto da Silva, and field superstar Kaká and fellow Brazilian Pedro Ribeiro.

Ganso (Portuguese for "goose," his nickname), has spent his entire career to date in Brazil, playing alongside Neymar at Santos before moving to Sao Paulo in 2012. He was Kaká's teammate at Sao Paulo while the Designated Player was on loan to the club after signing with Orlando City last year.

The 25-year-old, a midfield playmaker, has been a Brazilian international in the past, and was previously hyped as a budding superstar. Though his career hasn't yet hit those heights, he is still an intriguing talent.

Though he would likely command a Designated Player tag if Ganso was signed by the Lions, the recent announcement of Targeted Allocation Money could provide an avenue for the club to remove one of the DPs currently on the roster, likely Carlos Rivas or Bryan Rochez, in order to facilitate the signing.
