Hot new trend or fashion faux pas? Sean Johnson wears Chicago Fire's full third kit | SIDELINE

When the Chicago Fire hosted Columbus Crew SC in MLS action on Wednesday, there were two Fire kits in action on the field.

No, there wasn't a halftime wardrobe change. Instead, in addition to the outfield players wearing the team's primary kit, goalkeeper Sean Johnson wore the full Fire third kit, to mixed reviews online in the Fire's 1-0 loss at Toyota Park.

Get a sense of the look in this photo from the game:

And here's a clip of Johnson in action wearing the kit, making a big save in the first half for the Fire:

Johnson isn't the first goalkeeper to wear at least part of a team's standard uniform. But it's not at all common to see a 'keeper line up in his team's full kit. In the end, Johnson had a great individual performance, but the team lost -- so will there be any superstition in wearing this again, or never again?

What do you think? Should goalkeepers wear their teams' third kits more often, or was this a one-and-done kind of sight? Let us know in the comments section.
