Houston Dash welcome back Women's World Cup winners to record crowd | SIDELINE

Carli Lloyd acknowledges applause

We've been telling you -- if you want to watch the Women's World Cup-winning US national team, you have plenty of ways to still watch the players in action. Sure, there will be a series of friendlies this year with the USWNT, but you can also head to stadiums around the country to watch NWSL matches.

The scene in Houston on Sunday, where returning Dash players Carli Lloyd, Meghan Klingenberg and Morgan Brian made appearances during a league match against the Chicago Red Stars, was stunning.

A record crowd turned out for the Dash to the game, in their second season and part of the same organization as the Houston Dynamo.

Add to that the reception Lloyd, the Golden Ball winner and obvious breakout star of the Women's World Cup, received, and maybe it's the start of the orange wall in Houston for NWSL matches.

You can find more information, including ticket info, about the NWSL on the league website, NWSLsoccer.com.
