MLS Save of the Week update: Vancouver Whitecaps' David Ousted set to take home third straight win

MLS Save of the Week: Week 18

The David Ousted train just keeps right on rolling.

The Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper is coming off his second straight and third overall MLS Save of the Week award, all the while earning an Etihad Player of the Month nomination for June and rave reviews from his team. Now it appears he’s in line to make it three straight and four wins in total this season.

With less than one day of voting remaining, Ousted is running away with the voting, leading the next closest nominee by more than 16 percentage points.

With 39.95-percent of the votes cast as of Thursday, Ousted has taken a commanding lead over Orlando City SC’s Tally Hall (23.78 percent).

The battle, it appears, is for second place at this point, with Columbus Crew SC’s Steve Clark (18.03 percent) still in shouting distance of Hall.

New York City FC’s Josh Saunders (10.36 percent) and New York Red Bulls’ Luis Robles (7.88 percent) round out the five nominees.

Has Ousted all but won? There’s still time to make your voice heard.
