AMSTERDAM – Zarek Valentin was on top of his game at right back on Sunday night, helping Bodø/Glimt pull off a shock 1-0 upset of visiting Tippeligaen leaders Rosenborg.
With teammate Danny Cruz watching from the home dugout, Valentin worked perhaps his most complete shift of 2015 as Glimt posted just their second shutout of the season. Shortly after notching a big shot block in front of his own goal, the former Montreal Impact man threatened at the other end in the 57th minute. Valentin breached the RBK box on the overlap before drawing a low André Hansen save from a sharp angle.
The result not only gave Valentin & Co. their first win streak since last August, it boosted them out of the danger zone at the season's midway point.
