Al Pacino has become so captivated by the Copa America finalists – turned onto La Albiceleste through his Argentine girlfriend Lucila Sola – that he recorded a message of support that was posted to the tournament’s official website.
"I have just seen you play again, yet again and I love the way you play,” the "Scarface" star gushes. “I get excited along with my wonderful girlfriend Lucila. I am very excited to even be talking with you, it's thrilling for me to talk to you and to let you know how wonderful and great you are as players.
"I get really happy when I see you play; it's always a pleasure for me. I don't know you as people so I don't want to say how great you are as people, but as players, I love you"
Not likely wind up on a short list of the veteran actor’s most famous monologues, but it goes to show how the beautiful game can suck anyone in.
