Loved MLS Heineken Rivalry Week? Mark Aug. 28-30 on your calendar for another edition

Rivalry Week: Juninho in a show of emotion (June 27, 2015)

You might have thought that MLS Heineken Rivalry Week came to a close with the final whistle of the Portland Timbers' 4-1 win over the Seattle Sounders on Sunday night.

Technically speaking, that's the case – but there's plenty more of that action coming soon.

First, this week's slate of US Open Cup matches includes plenty of rivalry flavor, starting with the I-95 tussle between the Philadelphia Union and D.C. United on Tuesday at PPL Park (7 pm ET).

Wednesday sees two rivalry games, with the New York Red Bulls hosting another cross-river foe in the New York Cosmos in a highly-anticipated clash (7:30 pm ET). Later that evening, the San Jose Earthquakes and LA Galaxy will battle for the second time in five days as the California Clasico is renewed in Open Cup action at Avaya Stadium (10:30 pm ET).

The Open Cup is likely to throw up some more rivalry games in July, and MLS always has some sprinkled in, but for the next dose of all rivalries, all the time, mark your calendar for late August. The second edition of MLS Heineken Rivalry Week runs Aug. 28-30 and features another edition of the California Clasico, more Toronto vs. Montreal antagonism, a Timbers at Sounders duel and an Atlantic Cup meeting between the Red Bulls and D.C. United.
