FC Dallas may not have had a midweek game, but the club was still hard at work.

FC Dallas announced on Thursday that they have signed forward Tesho Akindele, midfielder Mauro Díaz and defender Moises Hernandez to new, multi-year contracts. Díaz and Hernandez will remain in Dallas throughout the 2019 campaign, while Akindele has agreed to terms on a deal that runs through 2018.

Locking the trio to long-term deals helps FC Dallas set themselves up for the future, as each player is 24 or younger and already a key contributor to the club.

Díaz, 24, recently surpassed his MLS career high in minutes played (966). He has scored eight goals and nine assists since signing with FC Dallas on July 17, 2013.

The 23-year-old Hernandez, a Homegrown Player from the FC Dallas academy, has appeared in 12 matches for a total of 945 minutes this season and has two assists. He has also appeared in four matches for the Guatemalan national team and was named to the Guatemalan squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Akindele, 23, has scored 10 goals and notched four assists in 40 appearances since being drafted sixth overall by FC Dallas in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. He won the 2014 MLS Rookie of the Year award and recently earned his first cap for Canada on June 11, 2015. Akindele was also named to Canada’s roster for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup.
