MLS Save of the Week: Week 15

David Ousted almost singlehandedly won the Vancouver their matchup at the New York last weekend, saving not one, but two Bradley Wright-Phillips penalty kicks to give the Whitecaps a 2-1 win at Red Bull Arena.

Now comes the hard part – can he win Save of the Week?

Ousted’s first penalty save on Wright-Phillips is one of five nominees for the Week 16 honors. Houston Dynamo ‘keeper Tyler Deric is also in the running, looking for his fourth Save of the Week win of the year for his acrobatic stop on Portland’s Alvas Powell. RSL’s Nick Rimando isn’t far behind Deric, seeking his third win of the season for his point-blank stop on Kansas City’s Dom Dwyer.

Two candidates looking for their first Save of the Week wins of the year round out the field, with the Red Bulls’ Luis Robles nominated for his diving stop on Vancouver’s Cristian Techera and Orlando’s Tally Hall up for his outstretched save on Montreal's Ignacio Piatti.

Which save was your favorite? Vote now – the winner will be announced on Friday.
