New England Revolution's Diego Fagundez wins AT&T MLS Goal of the Week for wicked side volley

Last weekend, Diego Fagundez became the youngest player in MLS history to make 100 career regular-season appearances, marking his milestone with a wicked side volley goal in the New England Revolution’s 2-0 win against the Chicago Fire.


The 20-year-old Homegrown Player was given another reason to celebrate on Friday, when his fantastic strike handily won AT&T Goal of the Week honors for Week 15, his first career Goal of the Week honor.


Fagundez took home 56.85 percent of the vote, more than 30 percentage points ahead of second-place finisher Lamar Neagle, who nabbed 26.53 percent of the tally. LA Galaxy newcomer Sebastian Lletget finished third, while David Villa and Federico Higuaín rounded out the field.
