D.C. United and the New England Revolution meet for a third time this season in a critical contest for both clubs when they face off Saturday evening at RFK Stadium. The teams are separated by just two points in the divisional standings, the Revolution sitting right on the red line in a tie for fifth place, with United just behind. D.C. return home off a second match without a win, reaching a scoreless draw at the Houston Dynamo last weekend. The Revolution continue their road swing following back-to-back wins for the first time this season, last a 2-1 win at Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

  • United were shut out at the attacking end for a second consecutive game and a fourth time in six contests, reaching a scoreless draw at the Houston Dynamo on Saturday evening. It was their third defensive shutout over that span.

  • United took the lead when Marcelo Sarvas was taken down on the edge of the area, and Lamar Neagle confidently stroked home the resulting penalty in the 33rd minute.
