Sporting Kansas City vs. Saint Louis FC | 2015 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup Fourth Round

Sporting KC midfielder Benny Feilhaber celebrates with teammates after scoring a penalty kick

Two Midwestern cities with rich soccer histories will do battle in the US Open Cup the first time since 1987 at Sporting Park on Tuesday, as USL expansion side Saint Louis FC visits Sporting Kansas City for a fourth-round matchup.

According to TheCup.us, these two soccer-mad metropolises faced off 28 years ago when Busch SC, who would go on to make a run to the semifinals, downed the KC Soccers 4-2 in the opening round of that year's Open Cup.

This time around, the host club is eager to mount another run at the trophy they won in 2013 -- and aiming to break the USOC Fourth Round attendance record of 15,981, currently held by Orlando City.
