A crucial match at the top of the Western Conference kicks off when Seattle Sounders FC return home to take on FC Dallas at CenturyLink Field on Saturday evening. Sounders FC are still atop the Western Conference, now in a tie for the divisional lead following their 1-0 defeat at Sporting Kansas City last weekend. FC Dallas are four points further back, playing the fourth match of their long road run, still winless on the trip following a scoreless draw at the San Jose Earthquakes last Sunday.

  • Sounders FC had their undefeated run put to an end after four games and their winning streak snapped after two, falling 1-0 at Sporting Kansas City on Saturday evening. It was the second time in four games they were shut out by SKC.
  • FC Dallas were blanked at the attacking end for a second consecutive match as their winless run stretched to four games following a scoreless draw at the San Jose Earthquakes on Sunday evening.
  • The teams are meeting for the second time this season. They played to a scoreless draw March 28 at Toyota Stadium.
  • Sounders FC have won the last four league meetings between the teams in Seattle, and five of the seven meetings there all-time. The only FCD win at CenturyLink Field came in 2011, a 1-0 victory on May 25.
  • The teams also met last year in the Western Conference Semifinals. They reached a 1-1 draw at Toyota Stadium in the first leg, then played to a scoreless draw in the second leg in Seattle, Sounders FC advancing on away goals.
