Boniek Garcia gets apology and more from Felipe Luis after tackle in Brazil-Honduras friendly | SIDELINE

Honduras' Oscar Boniek Garcia during loss to France

It's not every day a player ends up on the wrong side of a tackle and then gets the royal treatment.

But Houston Dynamo midfielder Boniek Garcia, on international duty with Honduras this week, received just that following a 1-0 friendly loss to Brazil in Porto Alegre on Wednesday.

Garcia received a brutal tackle to the shin from Brazilian defender Felipe Luis during the game. It ended his night after just 38 minutes on the field, and Felipe Luis received a yellow card on the play.

But the Brazilian attempted to rectify the foul, giving Garcia his jersey after the game, and after Garcia tweeted the gift, apologizing publicly for the play:

Translation: "Thanks to God it's not a serious injury. A grand gesture by Felipe Luis, who apologized."

Translation: "I'm very sorry, star. Best of luck at the Gold Cup!"

Nice to see Felipe Luis, who has won back-to-back league titles with Atletico Madrid and Chelsea, remains down to earth with a fellow professional.
