New LA Galaxy signing Sebastian Lletget made his first North American pro start over the weekend as five MLS-operated Western Conference teams enjoyed a 3-0-2 stretch in USL play
Having already played 21 minutes as a sub for the Galaxy first team on May 17, Lletget started in midfield and played 62 minutes for the Galaxy II in their 2-1 home win over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Saturday night (GALAXY RECAP / HIGHLIGHTS). LA's other two on-loan players, Jack McBean and Raul Mendiola, combiend for a dramatic game-winner in second-half stoppage time, with USL assist leader Mendiola scoring from a McBean pass.
Elsewhere, the Seattle Sounders 2 retained their one-point lead over the Sacramento Republic after both teams played to 1-1 ties. On-loan Homegrown Player Darwin Jones scored his fifth goal of the year, third in USL, in the Sounders' wild 1-1 tie with the OC Blues. (SOUNDERS RECAP / HIGHLIGHTS)
The Real Monarchs, meanwhile, held Sacramento to a draw in front of 11,442 Republic fans despite using only one on-loan player in the game. (SLC RECAP)
The Portland Timbers 2 moved into the Western Conference's top six spots with a 3-1 win at the Tulsa Roughnecks, led by eight saves from Jake Gleeson and two goals from Mike Nanchoff, including the go-ahead penalty kick in the 74th minute. (TIMBERS RECAP / HIGHLIGHTS)
