Armchair Analyst: Trust issues, the Century Club and other Week 12 thoughts

Before anything else: Congrats to Chris Wondolowski. He's now the ninth member of the Century Club following his equalizing PK in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Orlando City, and is on track to be the first ever to score double digits six years in a row (he's got 7 in 12 games).

Grant is right about this:

Torres now has four goals and two assists in 11 games this season, which nearly matches his total of 6g and 2a in his previous two years in the league.

2. Also on Saturday, the Montreal Impact continued to look like a team that knows what it's about, hitting hard and often on the break in a 2-1 win over FC Dallas.

This, however, is becoming more and more frustrating to watch:

I'm not trying to pick on Montreal here – they're down near the bottom of the league in fouls committed per 90, and by my subjective viewpoint, are one of the cleaner teams in the league.

But the point is: Everybody in MLS knows that you can hack the opposing team's best player at least three times before you get a persistent infringement card. Everybody knows that you can commit a multitude of tactical fouls before you get a yellow card (Davy Arnaud, who I love, is the Pele of tactical fouls); and everybody knows that, in 2015, you can get away with a little bit extra in the box.

Want a reason why scoring is down this year? There ya go.

1. And finally, I gave most of my thoughts about the Union's 2-0 win over the Red Bulls in the above video. Suffice it to say that, for RBNY, "effort" was as big an issue as anything else:
