AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 10

A trio of Cascadia rivals are in a dead heat for the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week, with Portland Timbers playmaker Diego Valeri narrowly leading Seattle Sounders Designated Player Clint Dempsey and Vancouver Whitecaps forward Darren Mattocks for the weekly honors.

Valeri’s goal in his return to Portland’s starting lineup in the Timbers’ win at Montreal leads the pack, with the Argentine holding 30.61 percent of the vote. Dempsey and Mattocks aren’t far behind, with the Sounders star’s fine left-footed finish at Columbus in second-place with 26.10 percent of the vote and Mattocks’ goal in the Whitecaps’ win against Philadelphia is in third with 25.91 percent.

FC Dallas forward Blas Perez and New York Red Bulls Designated Player Bradley Wright-Phillips fill out the field, with Perez currently in fourth with 12.29 percent of the vote and Wright-Phillips’ New York derby goal against NYCFC in fifth with 5.08 percent of the tally.

There’s still a little bit of time left to vote, with the polls closing late Thursday night before the winner is announced on Friday. Make sure you cast your ballot for your favorite!

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
