AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 10

There were an abundance of great strikes in Week 10 of the Major League Soccer season – now it’s time to pick your favorite.

Five big names will battle it out for MLS Goal of the Week, with Designated Players, a former No. 1 overall SuperDraft pick and a star returning from injury all in the running for the Round 10 honors.

Clint Dempsey will look to make it back-to-back wins for Seattle, with his curling strike in the Sounders’ 3-2 loss at Columbus nominated after fellow Seattle DP Obafemi Martins took home the Week 9 spoils.

Dempsey is joined in the running by a pair of Cascadia rivals, with Diego Valeri nominated for his goal in his return to the Timbers’ starting lineup in Portland’s 2-1 win at Montreal and Darren Mattocks in consideration for his strike in Vancouver’s 3-0 home win against the Philadelphia Union.

Filling out the field are a pair of strikers from two of the league’s top teams, with FC Dallas forward Blas Perez nominated for his equalizer in FCD’s 2-1 win against LA and Red Bulls’ DP Bradley Wright-Phillips up for his history-making opener in his team’s victory against crosstown rival New York City FC.

Which goal struck your fancy? Vote now – the winner will be announced Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
