LA Galaxy's Gyasi Zardes takes on Minnesota United's Miguel Ibarra in crossbar challenge | SIDELINE

Gyasi Zardes, LA Galaxy, vs. Chicago Fire

Two of the US national team’s up-and-coming players matched their skills in a crossbar challenge while in Zurich during the team's recent slate of European friendlies.

LA Galaxy forward Gyasi Zardes and midfielder Miguel Ibarra, of the NASL’s Minnesota United, each received 10 balls to see who could pick out the bar the most from the edge of the box in the video on FIFA's YouTube channel. And while we highly doubt their performance will affect which player gets the most playing time in the USMNT’s upcoming friendly Wednesday against Mexico (8:30 pm ET; Fox Sports 1), should they be selected for the game, it’s still a fun display of skill by the future of the national team.

Each player hit three in the first round and then the first ball of a sudden-death round.

It came down the second sudden-death ball. Check out the video above to see who came out on top.
