AMSTERDAM – Stabæk boss Bob Bradley had to watch his charges – which included midfield debutant Cole Grossman – concede a late 1-1 equalizer to Tippeligaen opening day guests FK Haugesund on Monday evening.

The former Real Salt Lake man went the distance in central park for the Blue Ones, who were out-possessed by 10 percentage points and out-shot 17-8. Still, they led until Haugesund sub Simon Diedhiou scored from a corner kick in the 80th minute.

Meanwhile, Bodø/Glimt right back Zarek Valentin put in a lukewarm shift as the visitors fell 3-1 at Sandefjord. It was the US youth international's first 90-minute outing since suffering an Achilles injury in the third game of last season.

Also, Rhett Bernstein watched on as promoted Mjøndalen started off with a 1-0 home win over Viking, who went without injured summer recruit A.J. Soares.
