The New York Red Bulls announced on Friday that they have signed defender Anthony Wallace, and that he will be with the club for Saturday's match at Columbus Crew SC (7 pm ET, MLS LIVE). Wallace has been on trial with New York since the start of the second preseason camp in Sarasota.

Per MLS policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

"We are excited to add Anthony to our club," Red Bulls sporting director Ali Curtis said. "Anthony has experience in MLS and performed well in preseason camp with the team. His style of play and the type of person he is fits what we are looking to establish with our organization."

Wallace spent the 2014 season with the Tampa Bay Rowdies in the North American Soccer League, his first outside MLS since being selected No. 9 overall in 2007 SuperDraft by FC Dallas. He three-and-a-half years with FCD before being traded to Colorado, where he established himself as the team's starting left back on the way to victory in MLS Cup 2010. Knee injuries would limit his chances on the field in Colorado, but he got a fresh start in Tampa, making 25 appearances for the Rowdies and scoring a goal in 2014.

Wallace has one cap for the US senior men's national team, which came as a substitute in a Jan. 2011 friendly against Chile, and boasts extensive experience at the youth international levels.
