AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: Vancouver Whitecaps forward Octavio Rivero leads the pack

AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 3

The Vancouver Whitecaps and forward Octavio Rivero used last-minute heroics to beat Orlando City 1-0 last weekend on a diving header in stoppage time.

Rivero appears to need no such dramatics in this week's AT&T MLS Goal of the Week race, leading the field with more than 58 percent of the vote with less than one day until the polls close.

LA Galaxy forward Robbie Keane is in second place for his dazzling run through the Houston Dynamo defense, notching 12.44 percent of the vote.

The three other nominees are right on Keane’s heels, with Dallas midfielder Ryan Hollingshead garnering 12.06 percent of the vote for his strike at Philadelphia, San Jose rookie Fatai Alashe registering 10.27 percent of the vote for scoring the first MLS goal at Avaya Stadium and Fire Homegrown Player Harry Shipp earning 7.13 percent of the tally for his goal in Chicago’s loss to Alashe’s Earthquakes.

Whether you want to extend Rivero’s lead or help a challenger make an improbable climb up the standings (does Shipp's goal really deserve to be fifth?), there’s still time to rock the vote! Make your pick by casting a ballot for your favorite goal before Thursday night’s deadline. The winner, determined by the total number of votes cast online, will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here
