American Exports: Danny Williams headed to Wembley as Reading advance to FA Cup semifinal

AMSTERDAM – Daniel Williams and Reading are on their way to Wembley after cruising to a 3-0 victory in their FA Cup quarterfinal replay against visiting Bradford City.

After playing to a scoreless draw at Bradford, the Royals wasted little time in lighting up the Majedski scoreboard on Monday night. Reading netted twice in the opening nine minutes, and Williams nearly made it three when his swerving long-range rocket forced a fine save in the 19th minute. Shortly after that episode, the US international picked up a yellow card that will see him suspended for Saturday's league visit to Charlton.

After the match ended, Reading were drawn to face Arsenal – a club they've yet to beat in eight tries – in one Wembley semifinal tie. Brad Guzan and Aston Villa are set up to stare down the winner of an April 8 replay between Liverpool and Blackburn in the other, with the contests slated for April 18-19.
