American Exports: Tim Ream turns in strong shift, but Bolton lose at the death

Tim Ream with Bolton

AMSTERDAM – Tim Ream and Bolton suffered derby heartache on Wednesday night, falling 1-0 in stoppage time at Blackburn.

The US international enjoyed a strong two-way shift at left back, but that work went for naught when Jordan Rhodes flicked home a corner kick with just a minute and change left in added time.

Ream's passing was key to Bolton moves all night long, including three crosses completed into the Rovers area. The defender also handled the ball while making a single turnover. Defensively, Ream notched a game-high three tackles without committing a foul.

Despite Ream’s strong performance, 18th place Wanderers dropped their fifth straight Championship road game.
