Bob Bradley's agent refutes report that former USMNT coach in running for Aston Villa post

Bob Bradley with Stabaek in Portland

Bob Bradley appears to be staying at Stabaek for now.

Just hours after ESPN FC reported that the former US national team coach, who is coming off his first season as the head coach for the recently promoted Norwegian club, was in the running for Aston Villa’s newly created director of soccer position, Bradley’s agent Ron Waxman squashed those rumors on Twitter.

Villa are in search of someone to fill the position to help new manager Tim Sherwood build a winning side. The report said Villa owner Randy Lerner and chief executive Tim Fox are admirers of Bradley, who was also linked to the Villa head-coaching job in 2010.

Bradley, who was recently Stateside leading Stabaek in the Simple Invitational preseason tournament in Portland, Ore., led the team to a surprising ninth-place finish in the 2014 Tippeligaen as the only American head coach in a top-flight European league.

He was also linked recently to Danish club Aalborg, with one report going as far to say the two parties have interviewed, but sources later confirmed to MLSsoccer.com that no interview had occurred.
