It is ancipated that a FIFA task force will make the suggestion of having the competition played during November-December at a meeting in Doha next week, and a final decision will then need to be made by the FIFA Executive Committee in Zurich in March.
If the World Cup is moved from its traditional June-July timeframe, only the European club season is expected to be impacted from a schedule point of view. To accomodate the World Cup, some clubs are hoping that a few international fixture dates are axed.
