Hamburg executives are preparing to meet with Julian Green on Wednesday after the US international starlet requested an airing of grievances following his refusal to play for their reserve side.

Hamburg spokesman Tobias Hauke told the German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost on Monday that team management would meet with Green, who is on loan from Bayern Munich, but said reports of Green being returned to his parent club are “speculation.”

Although Hauke did tell the newspaper that Green’s future is “very questionable.”

Since arriving on the season-long loan at the start of 2014-15, Green has played in just five games (one start). He wasn’t on the roster for Hamburg’s 8-0 destruction at the hands of Bayern last weekend.

Hamburg were forced to correct reports last week that Green had been “demoted” to the reserve side, saying he’s still training with the first team but may be asked to play for the U-23s periodically. Green went out of his way to address the reports on Facebook.
