US national team goalkeeper Brad Guzan and Aston Villa will play host to West Bromwich Albion in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup, it was revealed after Monday’s draw.
Villa, which last week made news with the sacking of Paul Lambert and the subsequent hiring over the weekend of former Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood, advanced with a 2-1 victory Sunday over Leicester City that saw Guzan watch from the substitutes bench as backup Shay Given recorded just one save.
Danny Williams and second-tier side Reading will face the surprising Bradford City of League One (third division), which upset Sunderland and Chelsea along the way. Williams went the distance in midfield in Reading's 2-1 fifth-round victory Saturday at Derby County.
In the other two quarterfinal matchups, Liverpool will play host to Championship side Blackburn Rovers, while Arsenal will take on Manchester United.
