Greg Garza on the run for Tijuana

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – Club Tijuana breezed past Pumas 3-0 on Friday in the Liga MX, with Greg Garza’s side remaining in second place in the Clausura 2015 table.

The Texan left back continued his solid form in 2015 with a 90-minute display for Xolos, sending in a left wing cross on the stroke of halftime that captain Javier Gandolfi headed against the post.

Earlier, Garza had made a vital interception in the fifth minute to cut out Omar Islas’ effort at goal in the team’s sixth match of the Clausura.

Venezuelan Juan Arango scored twice for Tijuana and Alfredo Moreno netted the other, with US international Joe Corona coming off the bench in the 60th minute for Xolos with the score already at 2-0.

In Club Tijuana’s Under-20 match on Friday, Paul Arriola equalized in the 68th minute in the 1-1 tie against Pumas, with John Requejo and Arriola going 90 minutes, Fernando Arce Jr. going 67 minutes and Raul Rodriguez coming on at halftime.

For Pumas, 21-year-old Ventura, Calif. native Bernabe Magana completed the whole match in net.
