Columbus Crew SC winger Cedrick Mabwati gets on the highlight reel as DR Congo claim third place in Africa

Crew sign Cedrick Mabwati

There were no goals to be found, but the Democratic Republic of the Congo – featuring Columbus Crew SC attack Cedrick Mabwati – have claimed third place in the 2015 African Cup of Nations after a penalty shootout victory over hosts Equatorial Guinea.

The 22-year-old, who will join Crew SC this summer from Spanish side Osasuna, had perhaps the highlight of the game, a lightning run from near midfield into the opposition area that his teammate couldn't get the finishing touch on.

Cedrick also converted the first penalty in DR Congo's 4-2 shootout win, following the scoreless draw.

Another MLS player could potentially see the field in tomorrow's final, as newly-signed Chicago Fire striker David Accam and Ghana will take on rivals Côte d'Ivoire with the Black Stars looking to claim their first African title since 1982.
