Will it be standing room only when the latest chapter in the US-Mexico rivalry takes place this spring?

Finding a ticket to the April 15 friendly between the two countries at the Alamodome in San Antonio may be difficult before long, as MySanAntonio.com reported on Thursday that more than 50,000 tickets have been sold for the match. The article also notes that capacity for the game will be around 65,000.

A US Soccer spokesperson confirmed on Saturday morning that 52,000 tickets for the game have been sold so far.

The game will be the second time the US national team have played in San Antonio. In their first game in the Texas city, they defeated Costa Rica 1-0 in June 1988.

It appears the US-Mexico match could set the all-time attendance mark in the city if ticket sales continue apace. Mexico has previously drawn a large crowd in San Antonio, as a friendly against South Korea in Jan. 2014 drew more than 54,000 fans for a 4-0 El Tri victory.
