According to FIFA vice president Prince Ali bin al-Hussein, the United States Soccer Federation is one of six national associations to nominate him for May's FIFA presidential election.

The Jordanian highlighted a "culture of intimidation" within soccer's top governing body on Tuesday at his campaign launch in London, adding that along with the USSF he'd been nominated for FIFA's top position by his home federation, Belarus, Malta, England and Georgia.

Sepp Blatter is running for a fifth consecutive term, and has garnered public support from Asian Football officials, along with the South American, African and Oceania confederations.

"We had promises from him he wouldn't run again, but obviously that is not the case," Prince Ali said. "With full honesty and integrity, he should give a chance to others.

"There is a bit of a culture of intimidation within FIFA but, having said that, this is a candidacy for the whole world," added Prince Ali, who faces a difficult task in unseating Blatter. "In the past, people take a principled stand and they are possibly punished for it."
