It’s been a positive start to 2015 for Alejandro Guido, with the midfielder making it two goals from two starts for Club Tijuana in the Copa MX so far.

The 20-year-old finished first time into the top right-hand corner from a right-wing cross to open the scoring in the 10th minute in the 3-1 away win over Necaxa on Tuesday.

US international Joe Corona continued his comeback from injury and went 89 minutes for Xolos in the Group 3 match-up, wearing the captain’s armband for the second consecutive cup game. The victory moves Tijuana onto seven points from its two games.

Xolos secured the victory despite going down to 10 players when Mauricio González saw red in the 21st minute.

Leones Negros playmaker Jesus Vazquez played the full 90 minutes for his side, but couldn’t stop them falling to a 3-0 home loss in the Estadio Jalisco. The result leaves Leones Negros in third in Group 3 on just one point from their first two matches.

Also completing the game on Tuesday was Puebla’s Herculez Gomez, with Sonny Guadarrama going 75 minutes for Atlante in their 1-1 tie in Cancún.

Puebla moved into first place in Group 5 with five points (including a bonus point), with Atlante trailing in third in Group 5 with one point.
