Major League Soccer will be honoring all-time leading scorer Landon Donovan a few hours before the start of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft on Thursday, January 15.
The league announced that the event will take place in a downtown Philadelphia hotel at 10:30 am ET and will feature MLS Commissioner Don Garber and Donovan himself. The MLS SuperDraft kicks off at 12:30 pm ET at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
"Major League Soccer will pay tribute to Landon Donovan, honoring him for his significant contribution to the league," read the league advisory.
The 32-year-old LA Galaxy legend retired at the end of the 2014 season following a 14-year career in MLS, finishing with an all-time best 144 goals.
Donovan won his record sixth MLS Cup title in his final match as a professional, as the LA Galaxy beat the New England Revolution in MLS Cup 2014.
