American Exports: Geoff Cameron, Brad Guzan advance in English FA Cup

Geoff Cameron in action for Stoke City

AMSTERDAM – Geoff Cameron and Stoke City advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-1 rally win over visiting fifth-division mites Wrexham on Sunday.

The US international worked 76 minutes in defensive midfield. Shortly after halftime, Cameron nearly opened the scoring but his header on a set piece went just over the bar.

Stoke, who went down in the 73rd minute, levelled the score with 10 minutes left, and then rode a late brace from Cameron's replacement, Stephen Ireland, to best the pesky Dragons.

Also, Brad Guzan served as back-up for Aston Villa's 1-0 home win over Blackpool.

Like the rest of the Yanks who won this weekend, Cameron and Guzan await Monday's draw to find out their fifth-round opponents.
