A field of 16 has been reduced to three, and the spotlight on college soccer's ultimate individual award will now intensify.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) unveiled the finalists for the 2014 MAC Hermann Trophy on Friday, with UCLA senior midfielder Leo Stolz (above) - who was a finalist last year - Syracuse junior goalkeeper Alex Bono, and North Carolina senior forward Andy Craven the remaining candidates.

The three of them were the top vote-getters from a weighted combination of votes NSCAA coaches and fans. They made it out of a group of talented semifinalists that was revealed earlier this month and included Connecticut forward Cyle Larin, Georgetown defender Joshua Yaro, and Stanford and US national team forward Jordan Morris.

The annual award, which has been won by the likes of Alexi Lalas and Brad Friedel, will be handed out on Jan. 9 at the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis.
