Changes keep coming at Sporting Kansas City: Fan favorites Aurelien Collin, CJ Sapong traded

After a late season swoon that saw them drop to No. 5 in the East and suffer early elimination in the Eastern Conference Knockout Round, Sporting Kansas City are ringing in the changes ahead of 2015.

After four seasons and over 100 matches, three-time MLS All-Star defender Aurelien Collin was traded away to Orlando City during Monday's half-day trade window and heading to Philadelphia in a separate transaction was another popular figure, attacker CJ Sapong, who was drafted by Sporting KC four years ago and played 110 matches.

Those moves come a little over a week after SKC declined the options on their starting goalkeeper and his backup, Eric Kronberg and Andy Gruenebaum, as well as regular contributors Sal Zizzo and Toni Dovale.

Sporting KC did come away with assets after the two Monday transactions, acquiring allocation money from former USL affiliate Orlando City and a first-round SuperDraft pick from the Union.

In a separate move Sporting also began replenishing the roster by landing Columbus Crew midfielder Bernardo Anor from the Columbus Crew in exchange for allocation.
