The New York Red Bulls announced Tuesday that the club will not exercise contract options for seven players ahead of the 2015 season.

The group of players whose options will not be picked up include forward Saer Sene, defender Kosuke Kimura, midfielder Bobby Convey, midfielder Marius Obekop, defender Damien Perrinelle, defender Ibrahim Sekagya (pictured above) and defender Richard Eckersley.

Of those players, the Red Bulls said in a statement that they were in discussions to bring back Obekop, Perrinelle and Sekagya for next season.

"On behalf of the New York Red Bulls, I would like to thank each of these players for their contributions to the club both on and off the field this season," said Sporting Director Andy Roxburgh in a statement. "We wish them all the best for their future."

The Red Bulls, who were eliminated from the 2014 MLS Cup Playoffs, presented by AT&T, by the New England Revolution on Saturday, will also be bidding goodbye to star forward Thierry Henry, who on Monday announced his intention to leave the club after four and a half years in New York.
