English tabloid: Potential Miami expansion team already targeting USMNT star Tim Howard

Miami doesn't have an MLS team yet, but if you believe the English tabloids, they're already recruiting talent.

A report in UK media outlet Sunday People claims that USMNT goalkeeper Tim Howard, who's currently on hiatus from international duty, is an acquisition target.

Former MLS star David Beckham is currently leading the pursuit of an expansion team in Miami and the bid hinges on a downtown stadium plan, but he's apparently also looking to make the current Everton goalkeeper one of the faces of a potential new club.

"Tim Howard is in line to become David Beckham’s first signing for Miami," according to an article attributed to Neil Moxley.

Then again, the 35-year-old 'keeper told ESPNFC.com that he planned on finishing his career with the Toffees when his new contract -- he signed it earlier this year -- runs out in 2018.
