American Exports: Brad Guzan, Aston Villa look to halt eight-game winless run vs. Burnley

Aston Villa's Brad Guzan is frustrated

AMSTERDAM – Most Americans working overseas will turn into road warriors this weekend, with Brad Guzan and Aston Villa hoping to get well at Burnley.

All times listed in ET.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

Geoff Cameron – Stoke City at Liverpool (Saturday, 10 am on Premier League Extra Time)

The US handyman could again appear in central defense, he could shift to midfield or he could miss out entirely thanks to a sick bug making its way through the Potters' clubhouse. Cameron has yet to win at Anfield in two tries, but teams featuring Americans have put up a respectable 3-4-5 run there. At the same time, there is also the small matter of Stoke having never won in 46 lifetime matches at Liverpool.

Brad Guzan – Aston Villa at Burnley (Saturday, 10 am on Premier League Extra Time)

The Villans are winless in eight and dangling over the danger zone, so Saturday would be a fine time to get back to winning ways. Guzan has only faced Burnley once, a 1-0 loss while on loan to Hull back in 2011. Turf Moor has not been kind at all to Villa, with their last victory there coming 22 attempts ago in 1929. It won't help that they arrive sans Christian Benteke and Ron Vlaar this time.

Tim Howard – Everton at Tottenham (Sunday, 11 am on NBCSN)

The "Blue-hot" Everton netminder is unbeaten in eight across all competitions, with five shutouts during the streak. After a slow start, the Toffees can now reach as high as fourth place with a win at White Hart Lane. Howard's last win there came in 2008, a span of five games. Overall, he is 7-6-5 against Spurs. Expect a tight contest; neither side has registered a league win by more than a goal in this match-up since 2007.

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

John Brooks – Hertha Berlin vs. Bayern Munich (Saturday, 9:30 am on GolTV)

With a pair of defenders out, Brooks looks certain to stare down the Bayern shredding machine. Though Manchester City snapped their 18-game unbeaten run in midweek, the Bavarians have dropped just two domestic contests since the start of 2013. They also currently have a 388-minute shutout run going on the Bundesliga road. As for Hertha, they've lost the last six series meetings by a combined 24-6 combined tally.

DUTCH EREDIVISIE

Aron Johannsson – AZ Alkmaar at Cambuur (Saturday, 2:45 pm)

Having opened his league account last weekend, Johannsson will now take aim at surprise package Cambuur. The US forward notched two goals and an assist in the home clash between the two last season, a 3-1 AZ win, but was held scoreless in the 0-0 away draw. The Cheese Farmers are currently unbeaten in four, but remain without key cogs Steven Berghius and Markus Henriksen. They've also won but once in six tries at Cambuurstadion.
