American Exports: Sacha Kljestan comes off bench to set up goal in Anderlecht's Champions League win

Sacha Kljestan celebrates his first Champions League goal for Anderlecht

AMSTERDAM – Sacha Kljestan came on late to help set up the insurance tally as Anderlecht clinched third place in Champions League Group D with a 2-0 home victory over Galatasaray on Wednesday night.

The former Chivas USA ace entered with six minutes remaining, completing 10 of 11 passes as the Mauves ran down the clock. Kljestan's biggest contribution came in the 86th minute, when Galatasaray netminder Fernando Muslera could only parry his free kick as far as the waiting boot of Chancel Mbemba.

Thanks to the defender's two goals, Anderlecht pulled four points ahead of the Turkish giants to secure a third-place finish in the group. With one game left to play, the Belgian champs are now assured of a consolation prize in the form of a spot in the Europa League final 32.
