Montreal Impact bring back Adam Braz to replace departed Matt Jordan as technical director

Montreal add Adam Braz at technical director

The front office changes in Montreal continued on Monday, as the Impact brought a familiar face back to the fold.

Montreal announced on Monday that they have hired former player Adam Braz as the club's new technical director. Braz was part of Montreal's technical staff from 2011-13, including the club's first two seasons in MLS, serving as team manager under four different head coaches.

"I am very excited at this great opportunity to be back with the organization in such an important, soccer-specific role," said Braz in a statement released by the club. "I want to thank Joey [Saputo] and the club for giving me this opportunity, and I look forward to the chance to help lead this club to long lasting success. My vision is to help create a clear soccer identity for the club."

Braz, 33, replaces former technical director Matt Jordan, who left to fill the same role for the Houston Dynamo. Braz is tasked with overseeing the technical staff and reporting directly to vice president of soccer operations Richard Legendre. Braz will also work closely with head coach Frank Klopas, manage the salary cap and be responsible for day-to-day operations of the first team.

"We are very pleased to have quickly found someone to fill this role with someone who knows the club, the culture, the league and the players," said Legendre in the same statement. "Adam has shown a lot of character and determination throughout his career. As the first team's manager, he showed a lot of professionalism. He has a clear vision on how the first team should operate. I am convinced that he has the necessary aptitudes to be successful in this role."

Brad enjoyed a nine-year professional career, including seven as a member of the Impact and one at Toronto FC. He finished his career among the Impact's all-time leaders in games played, games started and minutes played, and he also helped the club win regular-season titles in 2005 and 2006.

Internationally, Braz represented Canada at all age levels and played a total of 12 games for the national team from 2004-07.
