AMSTERDAM – A trio of Americans suffered second flight losses on Friday night, with Daniel Williams and 10-man Reading bravely falling 2-1 at Cardiff City.

The US midfielder left carrying a yellow card in the 72nd minute, having completed 41 of 46 passes with just one turnover on the ball. The 14th-place Royals have now dropped three of four Championship matches.

Elsewhere in the English second division, Emerson Hyndman watched on as Fulham blew an 80th minute lead to lose 2-1 at Brentford. The Cottagers' first defeat in four kept them chained to 17th place.

Over in Germany's 2. Bundesliga, Andrew Wooten worked a quiet shift on the right side of midfield as Sandhausen went down by a 3-0 count at Heidenheim.

The American's best chance of the game was deflected wide midway through the opening frame. Sandhausen saw their three-game unbeaten run halted, keeping them 12th in the table.
