American Exports: Eric Lichaj, Nottingham Forest struggle to another Championship defeat

Eric Lichaj

AMSTERDAM – Injury substitute Eric Lichaj's error on the game-winner helped doom strugglers Nottingham Forest to a 3-1 defeat against Championship visitors Brentford on Wednesday night.

The American replaced left back Jack Hunt with the Reds already down one in the 32nd minute. Three short minutes later, Lichaj's sloppy back pass allowed Andre Gray to round the home netminder and score.

Overall, it was not Lichaj's best night going forward into attack, but he did pitch in with four clearances and a pair of tackles. With three straight losses and four in five, early league leaders Forest have now dropped to 11th place.

Elsewhere, Emerson Hyndman went unused as Fulham battled back from two down for a 2-2 draw with visiting Blackpool. The 21st-place Cottagers extended their league unbeaten run to five games.
