WATCH: Landon Donovan leads American Outlaws in "I Believe That We Will Win" chant

Landon Donovan with American Outlaws

Landon Donovan didn't get the goal he so desperately wanted in his USMNT send-off match on Friday night in Connecticut, but he didn't let that dampen his mood.

The LA Galaxy star, who's set to retire from professional soccer at season's end, was taking it all in even after leaving the match against Ecuador just before halftime.

And after the final whistle he made sure to get one last moment with the supporters, who have cheered him on over the course of his 15-year US national team career.

But it wasn't to sign autographs or snap pictures. He was much more involved.

Donovan got on the capo stand and led the supporters in the chant that's become the de facto anthem for American soccer: "I Believe That We Will Win." (WATCH IT HERE)

And if it's true what he says about his plan to become a fan, it might not be the last time you see him doing this.
