Orlando City midfielder Kaka called up to Brazilian national team for first time in 19 months

Kaká raises fist for Brazil

For the first time in a year and a half, Kaka has been called in to the Brazilian national team.

The Orlando City midfielder has been called into camp as an injury replacment for Ricardo Goulart ahead of the team's matches against Argentina in Beijing on Oct. 11 and against Japan in Singapore on Oct. 14. Once a regular for the Brazilian team and a member of the country's 2006 and 2010 World Cup teams, Kaka has not played for the team since March 2013.

After getting trounced 7-1 in the World Cup semifinals, Luiz Felipe Scolari resigned from his post as the Brazil manager this summer. He was replaced by Dunga - who previously coached the national side from 2006-10 - and have won friendlies against Colombia and Ecuador since the coaching change.

Kaka was signed by Orlando City SC in July. He was sent on loan to Sao Paulo a few weeks later and has been a regular contributor to the club throughout this season. He'll debut for OCSC next season, the club's first in MLS.

Goulart, meanwhile, is the younger brother of LA Galaxy midfielder Juninho.
