AMSTERDAM – Tim Howard made five saves, but an error on the Everton backline forced the visitors to rally late for a 1-1 Europa League group stage draw against Russian outfit FC Krasnodar.

The US star's best stop came early on Marat Izmailov, who twice faced Howard in European action with Sporting Lisbon five years ago. However, a Phil Jagielka gaffe allowed Krasnodar striker Ari to break the ice two minutes before intermission.

Despite being outplayed for much of the night, the Toffees pulled level through Samuel Eto'o in the 82nd minute. The result kept Everton on top of Group H by two points after two rounds of play.
