American Exports: Andrew Wooten scores in fourth consecutive game for Sandhausen in 2. Bundesliga

AMSTERDAM – Sandhausen attacker Andrew Wooten scored for the fourth straight game on Friday night, but it came as mere consolation in a 2-1 loss against 2.Bundesliga hosts Braunschweig.

The American (pictured above, playing for Kaiserslautern in 2012) switched from center forward to right wing for this contest, despite having fired three consecutive winners. His only shot on goal before stoppage time was a try from distance into the arms of the home netminder.

In added time, Wooten was called on to take the spot kick after a Braunschweig player handled in the area and he made no mistake for his fourth goal of the young season. The former US youth international then made last-gasp attempt to tie the game from long range, but the shot sailed over and the visitors slipped to 11th place.

Around the league, Bobby Wood went unused as 12th place 1860 Munich got well with a 2-0 victory over visiting Greuther Fürth.
